CONTEST WINNERS

On the first day, you could witness the finalists of Moscow Toastmasters clubs qualification contests competing on stage in the most important Area Speech and Evaluation Contests.

1. Area Speech Contest (EN) led by Anatoly Burtsev 
1st Place  – TatyanaKurockina, CC from Toastbusters with her inspirational speech “Beware of Opinions”
2nd Place – Kristina Sharykina, CC, CL from WorldSurfers excited the audience with her “Let’s muse”.

2Area Evaluation Contest led by Svyatoslav Kalanteev
Our target speaker Veronika Kozlova challenged the participants with her speech about the World Cup preparation titled Is the hustle worth it?
1st Place  – Larisa Zorina, DTM  fromRederfluss Club
2nd Place – Dmitry Trapeznikov, CC, CL from Toasbusters Club

We also had German Section in which our international guests were welcomed to participate.

On the second day at BBQ we had a hilarious 5. Table Topics Contest at which every guest was encouraged to take part and we had nine participants! Guess who took the first prize once again?

1st Place  – Larisa Zorina, DTM  from Rederfluss Club. Great job! The 2nd was Ayunah Badmarinchinova from Toasbusters and the 3d award went to Henry Norman, a member of two Moscow clubs, Toastbusters and Worlsurfers

TOASTMASTER’S LEADERSHIP IN PRACTICE

ZBIGNIEW DZIDECZEK – private entrepreneur and consultant in restructuring programmes and negotiations. He is an ex-president of TOP CAREERS Toastmasters club in Warsaw, present Area J4 Director.

Each time there is a club board change every member thinks – What about me? What can I learn to be in the position of President, VPE, VPM or Secretary? You will find an answers to these questions and much more in Zbishekworkshop.

 


UNIVERSALLY AMUSING?

Andy HightonANDY HIGHTON, ACB, ALB is a founding member of the first English speaking Toastmasters Club in Lodz, Poland. He left the UK in the 1990s and since then he has worked as a language trainer, coach and has conducted language training workshops.

In this interactive workshop, we will explore how to make a speech humorous for all the listeners, the participants will leave with new ideas on how to increase the level of humour in their speeches and professional presentations.

 


STYLE AND ENERGY ( in Russian)

SERGEY SCHEPILOV, ACS, ex-president of the German-speaking Moscow Toastmasters Rederfluss Club. Currently, a successful business coach and conference moderator, Sergey has a degree in languages and started his career as a journalist.

In his master-class Sergey will tell and show us which elements comprise the image of a speaker and story-teller; how the speaker’s appearance, voice, and manners influence the perception of listeners; how all this relates to style and how we can influence these factors.

DAY TWO – BARBEQUE PARTY

This time our BBQ party is going to be more than usual! It is the 2nd day of the conference, after all, so we’re going to have a real Tall Tales speech contest (which you can sign up to in the registration form, or, if you have already registered, by dropping a line toeducation@toastmasters.ru), a public speaking workshop from Denis Shevchuk and an award ceremony for all contest winners from the 1st and 2nd days, and then we will seamlessly proceed to the traditional BBQ party, with lots of tasty food and funny contests, games, sports, and activities!

TO STAGE FREEDOM THROUGH SILLINESS

DENIS SCHEVCHUK, ACB, ALB, has been a Toastmaster for close to 8 years and an aspiringstand-up comedian for 2 years.  Denis strives to bring more fun to the members, newcomers,and guests of Moscow Toastmasters Community.

Some speakers seem being relaxed on stage to such an extent they look at home there. One may wonder whether this ability is a natural talent or a developed skill. In his workshop Denis is going to argue in favor of the latter.

Highlights of Sunday include:
– for the first time, a proper 2nd day of the conference in an outdoor setting, complete with a workshop from Denis Shevchuk, a Table Topics contest, and an award ceremony for all contest winners!
– innovative Engish-Russian narrative by our hosts Ilya Nefedov and Julia Tokareva
– open-air guitar concert from Sergey Schepilov & Mikhail Petrov (with many members of the audience spontaneously joining in), using a real portable amplifier and booming speakers!
– intriguing associations game that helps you unleash your creativity during Table Topics, led by Kristina Sharykina
– board games, sports games, some good-natured dog-chasing (sometimes necessary to continue the game, if you’ve been careless enough and let Thelma snatch an important piece of equipment from you), fun and relaxation
– and, of course, juicy barbecue!
